長崎県では、原爆投下の日である8月9日を「県民祈りの日」と定めている。この日は原爆犠牲者の冥福を祈るとともに、恒久平和への誓いを新たにする日である。
県では、当日午前11時2分に全県民が一斉に1分間の黙祷を捧げることとしており、家庭や職場など場所を問わず、県内外の誰もが参加することを呼びかけている。

Call for One Minute of Silence
In Nagasaki Prefecture, August 9, the day the atomic bomb was dropped, has been designated as the “Prefectural Day of Prayer.” On this day, we pray for the souls of the atomic bomb victims and renew our pledge for lasting peace.
The prefecture calls on all residents to observe a one-minute moment of silence at 11:02 a.m. on that day. Everyone, whether at home, at work, or elsewhere, in Nagasaki or beyond, is invited to participate.
